The IWEP Program - Industry Work Experience Placement

ICCA Dubai's IWEP (Industry Internship / Work Experience Placement) Program is an industry integration initiative specially designed for students who wish to become Professional Chefs.

The IWEP Program is separate from and in addition to the intensive on-campus guided learning and training. The IWEP arrangements are in the form of either regular employment to begin with, or an industry internship generally of 6 to 12 months' duration, successful completion of which leads the student chef to a regular work placement.

Option 1

Full-Time Intensive

Duration: 3 months

Classes run 4 days a week on a full-time basis. Students start their day at 07:00 AM and end at 05:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday are reserved for IWEP / industry exposure. Sunday is the weekly day off.

Intakes: Every 6 weeks. Speak with India admissions for the next intake date.

Option 2

Part-Time Weekend

Duration: Approx. 12 months

The weekend program is held on Sundays and runs in a continuous cycle, with admissions open throughout the year - ideal for working professionals or those balancing other commitments.

Intakes: Rolling - apply any time.

All equipment, ingredients and protective gear are provided, along with Standard Recipe Cards for all classes.

What is the total fee for Indian students?

The all-inclusive Professional Diploma total is AED 52,844.40 (~USD 14,681 or ~INR 11,89,000). This includes course fees, City & Guilds registration & exam, online resources, textbook, uniform, KHDA attestation, IWEP, and VAT. EMI options and Indian student education loans are available.

Do I need IELTS to apply?

IELTS is not mandatory. Basic English proficiency is enough. The admissions team will assess your communication during the interview.

Is the diploma recognized in India?

Yes. The City & Guilds (UK) IVQ Level 2 Diploma plus the Worldchefs certification are recognized by Indian hospitality employers including the Taj group, Oberoi, ITC, Marriott, Hyatt and leading restaurants - and globally portable.
